Voting

In a democracy, government exists to serve the needs of its citizens. As voters, citizens select officers of government and participate directly in making the laws and policies that govern their society. With the constitutional right to select their government, citizens also inherit the responsibility of actively participating in that selection process. Voting is key to creating a stable government that properly reflects the citizens it represents.

Although there are more than seven million Ohioans registered to vote, there are many citizens who remain ineligible because they have not registered.

For more information on registering or to request a Voter Registration Form, visit the Secretary of State online at www.sos.state.oh.us.
